How to Import Brazilian Chicken Paws into South Korea
South Korea is both a consumption market and a re-export point for Brazilian chicken paws, with quarantine and inspection handled by APQA before any container is released.
APQA quarantine and approved establishments
Every shipment of frozen chicken paws entering South Korea passes through quarantine and inspection administered by the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA). Product must come from a Brazilian SIF plant that is approved and eligible to export to Korea, and must travel with the veterinary health certificate confirming origin and condition. The full cold chain and certification requirements are covered in how to import chicken paws from Brazil.
Ports and cold chain
Busan and Incheon are the main discharge ports for reefer containers from Brazil. Maintaining an unbroken −18 °C cold chain from loading to APQA release is essential — see our cold chain & reefer shipping guide for how temperature is monitored and logged across the voyage.
Delivery terms and payment
Shipments to South Korea are typically sold CIF reefer, with the exporter arranging freight and insurance through to the Korean port. Payment is most commonly settled by documentary letter of credit (L/C), with documents released against presentation of the health certificate, certificate of origin, packing list and bill of lading.
